Exactly look very professional in Kuma because it looks really shoddy like you were using clip art speech balloons... and to make it worse the text doesn't even line up in the speech balloons how you'd like them to. In Comipo you can line up the text in the speech balloon how you want it to look, you can thicken the outlines of the speech bubbles, and most importantly change the colors of the speech balloons.Background images-- Kuma wins this one over Comipo, I think. they have more cartoony-like and artistic backgrounds than they do photo backgrounds with a weird filter on them, although they also do have that. Comipo has more photo backgrounds than they do cartoony backgrounds that would fit with Comipo's 3d models. for example, Kuma have way more backgrounds suited to speific places than Comipo does....although sadly they don't have beach backgrounds as Comipo does.They also have 3d backgrounds and rooms that you can rotate and move around in, unlike Comipo. Unfounately, it seems that there's only three 3d backgrounds that you can have right now--a schoolroom, two bedroom types, and a cherry tree park. Special effects: Comipo wins this one. Kuma sadly seems to revert to the basic clip-art look that you can find anywhere on the internet. and you can't actually adjust the colors or transparency on any of the special effects that you layer over the images... in fact, it looks like you just sloppily copy and pasted it over existing images without doing anything to it like blurring the image. They don't even have things like shadows or anything like that. Comipo wins over Kuma right now, although that might change in the future. Comipo has way more hair and eye color choices than Kuma does, as well as different hairstyle choices. You can also change the colors of the outfits that you choose for your model. The way Kuma set up their character creation, it feels more like a flash dress up game with extremely limited choices right now. Character Posing and custom expressions-- This is where Kuma has the edge over Comipo... they definitely win big in this category. You can create all kind of custom poses, and tweak existing ones in the database for your own purposes. you can also tweak default expressions to create your own custom expressions. Comipo's definitely more limited in this respect. Custom Content-- Comipo wins in this. Kuma allows you to import images to use as your backgrounds and effects, but that's it. They don't have any way for you to import 3d models into the program at all. So the lack of CC is definitely very stifling.

So, there's a new program on Steam that's very similar to Compio Manga maker. Although it's kinda obvious that it's pretty new because it's still very rough around the edges. It was only five dollars, so I brought it to do a comparison to Comipo. I'll list all the features and compare which program does the feature better. Creating Comic Panels-- Well, from what I've seen so far both Kuma and Comipo seem tied on this one. on one hand, Kuma can allow you to directly change the shape of the panels on the page by grabbing the edges of a panel and then changing its shapes from an arrow shape to a star shape. Comipo you can only do that by clicking the panel and then selecting from options given to you and a slider. you can't really customize the panels beyond that in Compio. That edge would be given to Kuma if it wasn't for the fact that you can't change the color of the outline of the panels, although with both programs you can change the thickness of the panel's outline. The fact that you can't do that on Kuma, means that they lose that edge over Comipo. However, both have good features when it comes to creating pages, so that means they're tied here.Speech Bubbles/Balloons-- Ehh... I think I might have to give it to Comipo? At first, Kuma looks like it has a better speech bubble feature because they have so many styles of speech bubbles to choose from. But then you realize that they're clip-art style bubbles and that the only thing you can customize about them is the text color. you can't thicken the outlines of the speech bubbles, or make it clear who's talking by pointing it at the character.
