It goes without being said that practice is the key to success in anything you hope to do well. British Researchers have now revealed that they believe it takes 10,000 hours of practice for a person to become an ace at their discipline. In study after study, of basketball players, golfers, ice skaters, writers, musicians and any other profession in which a level of mastery is attained, 10,000 hours seems to be the magic number that all experts have achieved. Just like that if you practice using lacrosse rebounder then you’ll be PRO at it. But remember 10,000 hours!Michael Jordan is an example of who attained his extraordinary ability through a consistent concentrated focus of dedicated practice. He was not a prodigy through natural selection. His unique position in life and his mental perception allowed him to practice and practice when other players the same age were not.Ten thousand hours is an enormous amount of time needed to reign supreme in Lacrosse and a player that dedicated to improvement is a rare find. But if a serious laxer did have the dedication to improvement, it would be all but impossible for that child to reach their true potential by their lonesome.Encouraging parents, optimal economic opportunity, training tools and entry into summer camps and teams are required for a shot at an elite level.Being a master of the basic skills will give you an advantage over the other team. It is important to know the basics before moving on to advanced moves and modifications.Mastery of the game mechanics starts with familiarization of the rules, roles of each member, and most importantly, the skills required in the game.I will talk about one of the most needed skills in lacrosse which is passing. Here are some tips that could improve your passing skill:If you are in possession of the ball, don’t hold it for long. The advantage of passing the ball to your other team players is that it minimizes the risk of getting checked by players from the opposing team and eventually, losing the ball. It also maximizes the dynamics of your team since your other teammates can also take possession of the ball.In making a pass, be sure to make it short and quick. Passing a ball in a long-distance range will increase the possibility that the ball will be taken by the opposing team. The pass should be done quickly so that the

In Los Angeles, CA. I played my first year of football that year as well, and was not very good but I really loved the intensity of the sport and the contact. Lacrosse was a club sport at my school and there were some kids trying to make it a varsity sport. I always enjoy being a part of growth and it seemed like this could be a cool sport to grow at our school so I decided to play. The rest is history…The recent LXM event broadcast on TLN went over really well. Were there any surprises? How was this event different from past broadcasts?Samir Chaudry: The LXM Pro tour has some of the most polarizing figures in the sport as well as all of the players that I looked up to while I was playing… most specifically, Mikey Powell and Kyle Harrison. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched their highlight tapes or old VHS cassettes of them playing.I wanted to be able to showcase those players in a special way, and while we are still working on really getting the broadcasts to look good, we need everyone’s help. The more people that tune in, the more opportunity we get to make the coverage better. What can we expect to see from TLN moving forward?Samir Chaudry: A lot of content outside of just broadcasts. With our newest team member, Colin Rosenblum, we have a one of the best and most creative talents in the lacrosse media realm. I have a lot of confidence in our team here at TLN already, and adding Colin has been great for our creative chemistry. We have some ideas brewing, but when it comes to more details, you’ll just have to wait and see…What need does TLN fill for the lacrosse world? How can TLN help to Grow The Game and make a name for itself?Samir Chaudry: I think most importantly, we need to adjust and develop the brand identity that the sport has. I think it’s such an amazing sport, and an unbelievable community, but we have a bad rap in mass media. People associate lacrosse with the instances at Duke and Virginia, and there is just so much negativity around the sport. At TLN we are looking to showcase the sport in a new way, both by exposing the athletes and players, as well as telling the stories within the sport. Honestly, the community is my favorite part: at the last LXM Event I had my stick and there was a little kid doing some stick tricks on the field. I went out there and held up my stick and he threw me a pass. As we were passing back andMASS ELITE LACROSSE HEALTH AND SAFETY
Lacrosse is probably the best summer sport to play, as it is very similar to hockey. Wayne Gretzky, one of the best players of all time was known for also being great at Lacrosse. I read in Gretzky’s book that when he played in the minors a coach on the other team offered $5 for every hit laid on Gretzky in the game. The coach ended up paying $2.50 for half a hit, why? Gretzky said he had learned from Lacrosse to dodge hits, and roll off of them. That is not the only thing you will learn though, I have compiled a list below of skills that will help your hockey game that you can learn in Lacrosse.Skills that will transfer to hockey from LacrosseLateral movement and foot speedAvoiding hitsDekes and fakesPositional playExplosive powerPassing and setting up playsHand eye coordinationSportsmanlike and team playAcceleration and speedShooting and aim / accuracyCore strength, follow through and second effortsChecking and physical presence Here is a great list of other hockey players who would play lacrosse during the summer when they were youngWayne Gretzky, Brendan Shanahan, Doug Gilmour, Cliff Ronning, Joe Sakic, Steve Larmer, Collin Patterson, Tim Hunter, Paul Kariya, Don Cherry, Gary Roberts, Adam Oates, Paul Coffey, Joe Nieuwendyk. …and many more! – Thanks to Port Coquitlam Minor Lacrosse Association for the list. It is best to enroll your child in team sports, but not every town has a local lacrosse team. When I was younger I bought a few lacrosse sticks from Canadian Tire and just tossed the ball around, or played mini games when my friends were over. Lacrosse is great at building all kinds of muscle memories that you can really use in hockey. So don’t just limit yourself, or your child to hockey, make sure they get to play a number of sports and become overall great athletes.Photo credit Alex Cena. Mass Elite Lacrosse. 1,055 likes. You first must master several dodges individually. The Different Lacrosse DodgesThere are four basic dodges everyone should know how to do: Lacrosse Roll Dodge Lacrosse Split Dodge Lacrosse Face Dodge Lacrosse Bull Dodge These lacrosse dodges can be used by themselves or in combinations with each other to create space on offense. As mentioned before, throughout the whole dodge you should keep your feet moving and you should also keep in mind where your teammates are.Lacrosse Roll DodgeThe lacrosse roll dodge is the perfect way to dodge back into your strong hand. If you are right-handed and moving down the left-hand alley in your left, a roll dodge can get you a quick right-handed shot with a better angle than an on the run shot. In your left hand, use your right foot to start the process. Use your right foot to plant into the defender and drive with your right shoulder. Then use the built-up pressure of you pushing against the defender who is pushing back to roll into your left hand.Example Lacrosse Roll DodgeYou will want to take a stride with your left foot and push off with your plant foot as your switch back to your right and roll around the defender. When you are performing the actual spin move remember to use your shoulders and offhand to protect your stick. Once back in your right you should have free space to feed or shoot. You can also use the roll dodge to work back down the alley. Mass Elite Lacrosse. 1,055 likes.
