When - especially when - both are under threat. Exploring the complex territories of debilitating illness, motherhood and finding healing in nature, her writing reclaims the great outdoors for those who so often are shut in. Hopeful and brave. Merryn Glover, author of Of Stone and Sky A brave and beautifully written memoir of a life lived close to nature, despite the significant challenges imposed by chronic illness and pain. In Land Beneath the Waves Nic Wilson courageously explores the fragmented memories of her past, to better understand her relationships with herself, her family, and the natural world; a journey both deeply moving and full of hope. I loved this book. Brigit Strawbridge Howard, author of Dancing with Bees This one's different. It's not another book about the soothing power of the wild (view them with suspicion) but a taut, unself-pitying inquiry into the nature of nature, the nature of suffering, the caprice of memory and the slipperiness of identity: a sort of theodicy that mentions nightingales but not God. Nothing in the real, living world is incidental, and because the book is a real, living thing, nothing here is incidental either. It's a tightly woven ecosystem of woods, anxiety, hedges and hope. It will endure long after more emollient books have been pulped. Charles Foster, author of Cry of the Wild What happens when a nature writer turns their attention to the most unnerving of all landscapes - those that exist in our bodies and minds? Nic Wilson has done just that, exploring internal thickets of tangled nature and nurture, wild gardens where the composted past feeds the present, marshes of intermingled memory and meaning. The result is a book of great courage, curiosity, discovery and connection. Amy-Jane Beer, author of The Flow A moving, honest and compassionate story of illness, and the beauty and succour to be found in the natural world. Nic reveals the complexity of our relationships with wildlife and landscapes, which does not simply offer a cure but can help us meet the challenges of chronic ill health. Patrick Barkham, author of Wild Child Touching and beautiful. A courageous reflection on a life spent managing long-term illness and an unreliable body, and the remarkable ways that nature can hold a family together. Ben Hoare, writer and editor Nic Wilson guides us time-slipping through her world, guided by botany, birdsong and ancient geology. A journey through overlooked snickets, the edgelands of chronic pain and anxiety and, ultimately, to finding belonging in the margins. Doreen Cunningham, author of Soundings A powerful record of the way joy in the natural world may counterbalance intergenerational illness and systemic failures. Through reconciling long-buried childhood experiences and accepting the complex reality of her own body, Nic Wilson offers a vital retort to 'the myth that worthwhile encounters with the natural world only happen to wild people in wild places'. An important and necessary addition to writing about nature and illness. Polly Atkins, author of Some of Us Just Fall I was Newsletter Signup Get recommended reads, deals, and more from Hachette By clicking ‘Sign Up,’ I acknowledge that I have read and agree to Hachette Book Group’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use An incredible journey, beautifully written, of nature's transformative powers. With Nic Wilson's memory fragmented, her story is one that illustrates how our deep connection with the world around us is innate and how, irrespective of memory, it has the power to shape who we are. A heartfelt, honest memoir, lovingly told, that will invite you to value the nature on your doorstep. Hannah Bourne-Taylor, author of Fledging A deeply honest, forensically detailed account of a life blighted by ill-health, yet redeemed by a profound connection with nature - a delight to read. Stephen Moss, author and naturalist The natural world beats to its own rhythm, and when we tune in, we change state to become part of something much bigger than ourselves. When facing daily pain, both mental and physical, that can be a godsend. In Land Beneath the Waves, Nic Wilson demonstrates with gritty realism and deep feeling just how important nature is, no matter what our state of health. A moving book with depth and perception, and laced through with hope. Nature as friend, comforter and counsellor. Mary Colwell, environmentalist author and producer I loved Land Beneath the Waves. An honest and touching memoir, beautifully observed and written, and a wonderful advertisement for the importance of connection with the natural world. Lev Parikian, writer and conductor Both ordinary and profound, Land Beneath the Waves charts a process most of us never manage: to give a true account of ourselves. It's also an illuminating testimony of chronic illness, one that fellow sufferers will recognise and the rest of us can only be enlarged by. Melissa Harrison, novelist, nature writer and children’s author A brutally honest story that demonstrates why nature keeps us afloat. Nic Wilson is one of the most exciting emerging nature writers, her debut is an unstoppable tide, washing over the reader with pain but always with joy and kindness. Jack Wallington, author and landscape and garden designer A vivid account of intergenerational trauma and how being attuned to nature can help you get through. Sally Huband, writer and naturalist A beautiful, moving memoir highlighting the amazing relationships humans have with the natural world, and what they mean for us. Kate Bradbury, author, journalist and TV presenter Land Beneath the Waves is a tender portrait of how a family grows in tandem with the natural world. The body, here, is re-storied: it becomes both an object of contemplation in the Wilson's quest to make sense of chronic illness across generations, and the stage for vital, lively connection with plants, water, land, and place. It is hopeful, vibrant, and alive. Jessica J. British India founding member and guitarist will “retire” from the band he helped start in 2004.British India are Wilson, Declan Melia, Will Drummond and Matt O’Gorman. Until this announcement, the line-up had been stable since day one.Wilson was with the band for their six albums, four of which went Top 10 on the ARIA Album Chart. The most recent album ‘Forgetting The Future’ (2017) peaked at no 12.Wilson issued a statement saying:“British India is something we started as snotty nosed high school kid that became something much bigger and more important to people than we could have ever expected. The three lads in the band were the three best men at my wedding and the three best men to play a part in in my life.“We decided on everything together as children to adults and proved that democracy can prevail when done right. I was lucky to share every terrible Tarago road trip with them laughing hysterically as the road disappeared behind us. I was lucky to share the stage at first playing to nobody and then playing to thousands.“And I was lucky to live out the dream a 12-year-old version of myself pined for daily. To play music to people who cared. For that – I thank you. But time moves on and I have other things I want to try my hand at and I am ready to see what else I can do.“Thank you for the memories everybody. Takes science-fiction clichés and follows them to their largely horrifying conclusions — remains as popular as ever. Its titular duo consists of a gruff-voiced alcoholic grandad and his overly sweet and naive grandson, playing out a twisted version of Back To The Future's Marty McFly/Doc Brown relationship, as they embark on 'adventures' riffing on Mad Max, infinite alternate universes, The Purge — and, in one particularly famous episode, sentient pickles. Dark, weird, unique, and sometimes disarmingly emotionally perceptive, this could easily run for another decade… and another… and another.70) Luther (2010-2019)Streaming on: BBC iPlayer, SkyShowrunner: Neil CrossStarring: Idris Elba, Ruth Wilson, Paul McGann, Dermot Crowley, Michael SmileyA brilliant detective, unafraid to do what others daren’t in order to see justice done. One who, dogged by an ever-increasing number of ghosts whose deaths only heighten his brutality and mental anguish, runs around in the same clobber night after night chasing psychopaths as the powers that be wonder whether he’s actually one of them. No, we're not describing Batman, but rather London’s very own dark knight, “LOOFAHHHH!”. We mean, er, Luther. Part gritty police procedural, part dark noir fantasy, the show — which started life on the BBC before being picked up for feature follow-up The Fallen Sun at Netflix — follows Idris Elba’s hulking, red-tie-and-tweed-coat-sporting copper as he hunts depraved killers in the darkest recesses of the rain-soaked Big Smoke. And as if that ain’t enough to recommend it, Luther is often joined on his crusades by psychopathic, serial killing frenemy Alice Morgan, played by the irrepressible Ruth Wilson.69) Sex And The City (1998-2004) ©HBOStreaming on: Sky/Now TVShowrunner: Darren StarStarring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Chris NothThanks to the passage of time and two cack-handed movie spin-offs, Sex And The City has come to be seen by many as a silly show about shoes and cocktails — a reputation both cemented and contested by recent revival series And Just Like That, depending on who you ask. But beneath the layers of Prada hid a series that was smartly written and incredibly brave, even if it did totter across the screen on a pair of immaculately fitted Jimmy Choos. It's easy to forget now how groundbreaking the adventures of four sexually liberated (okay, three, plus Charlotte) Manhattan thirtysomethings were, not just for women on TV, but for the treatment of sex on the box. Earlier today on Facebook, famed director and screenwriter Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull) shared a video of Nicolas Cage, the internet meme-god, reenacting a famous Nicolas Cage meem [sic]: “YOU DON’T SAY.” The meem was re-created during the production of Schrader’s upcoming film Dog Eat Dog. Nic Cage does a Nic Cage meem. On the set of DOG EAT DOG Nicholas performed the original and most well known Nic Cage meem. He was playing an armed robber in a policeman's uniform.Posted by Paul Schrader on Monday, November 9, 2015 “Nic Cage does a Nic Cage meem,” Schrader wrote on Facebook. “On the set of DOG EAT DOG Nicholas performed the original and most well known Nic Cage meem. He was playing an armed robber in a policeman’s uniform.” That scene — featuring Cage with his head reared back, eyes wide, yelling “You don’t say!” — comes from an ancient and primitive meem used to dispel stupid people on message boards … … the facial expression of which was taken from a scene in the 1988 film Vampire’s Kiss. The meem cycle has completed one full iteration, and now we begin anew. Nicolas Cage Reenacts ‘YOU DON’T SAY’

It should have detected the virtual NIC as a separate device from the original physical NIC (which is no longer present) and should have default settings of DHCP. Maybe try uninstalling all NICs via device manager in the VM, then doing a rescan followed by a “netsh int ipv4 reset” for good measure.Edit: removed suggestion you’ve already tried. adrian_ych (adrian_ych) August 7, 2021, 11:07am 7 What is the VM OS ?? I think I missed the part of P2V.Else see if there is a hidden vNIC and delete that vNIC from within the VM.From the command prompt, type: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1Start the search. Type: start devmgmt.mscFrom the Device Manager, list the devices. Select: View > Show hidden devices.Deinstall the listed devices: Select the device and uninstall it from the Device Manager. hepkat63 (hepkat63) August 13, 2021, 8:09pm 8 Ok, so back on site. Still can’t get this working.I’ve taken a fresh copy of the server and when I fire it up in Hyper-V - I’ve gone to check the network adaptors and there is just one - virtual network adaptor. I try to remove it, but it won’t let me? I select and right click - uninstall, but it doesn’t change? Tried - show hidden files - tried again, can’t remove it.Shut down Hyper-V. nic wilson nic wilson nic wilson nic wilsonnic wilson nic wilson
