Obs version 27
Author: o | 2025-04-24
I got a question does OBS 27 work with an i3 and not OBS 28. If it's true that's OBS 27 works well but OBS 28 does not I was wondering if I could find a stable version and go back and retro load the old version. I can't figure out how to use GitHub correctly. But that seems like the only place to find version 27. I have the identical settings that worked wonderfully with the last OBS 27 version. It bugs the hell out of me In addition, before updating to OBS 28, I unfortunately forgot to make a backup of my last OBS 27 Windwos version. Shame on me. Do you know if I can still get the last OBS 27 version and where I can download it? Thanks for your

Thanks for your #1 Last Sunday (May 30, 2021), I streamed my church session for 2 hours without a single error.I upgraded OBS from 26.1.2 to 27 yesterday, and this morning for my church streaming session, there were 13% frames skipped due to encoding lag. See the screenshot. Does anybody have similar issues? There are no configuration changes from last Sunday, except upgraded to OBS 27. Thanks. #2 Same here - I've noticed a big difference - CPU load up higher and skipped frames from encoding too. have gone down from 1080 to 936p adn now 720 to try to survive. need to figure out how to roll back to previous version #3 I'm having exactly the same problem and I'm desperated because I use OBS to teach online. Is maybe the problem related with Skype? It seems that I got a lot of Skipped frames due to encoding lag when using Skype but not when using OBS alone. #4 I've also had issues with "rendering lag" didn't know it was a thing until I started searching through this awesome OBS Forum. Don't know how rendering lag affects encoding lag or vice versa but this might help. Basically turn off "Hardware acceleration" in Google Chrome or any browser you use. and also uncheck "Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration" in OBS settings.I've posted this solution here with more info below. I use OBS with an Imac 2017 and Macbook Pro 2019 and have seen this problem on both machines. Hope this helps or at least assists with the process of elimination. 2025-04-21An OBS plugin that allows capture of independant application audio streams on Windows, in a similar fashion to OBS's game capture and Discord's application streaming. win-capture-audioAn OBS plugin similar to OBS's win-capture/game-capture that allows for audio capture from a specific application, rather than the system's audio as a whole. This eliminates the need for third-party software or hardware audio mixing tools that introduce complexity, and in the case of software tools, introduce mandatory latency.Internally it uses ActivateAudioInterfaceAsync with AUDIOCLIENTPROCESSLOOPBACK_PARAMS. This initialization structure is only officially available on Windows 11, however it appears to work additionally on relatively recent versions of Windows 10.This plugin is in a BETA state, expect issues - for support and updates. An updated version of Windows 10 2004 (released 2020-05-27) or later is required.Want to support the development of the plugin? and UsageHead over to the Releases page and download the latest installer (or zip if you are using a portable installation)Run the setup wizard, selecting your root OBS folder (obs-studio/, not obs-studio/obs-plugins/) when asked (or extract the zip to the portable OBS root directory)Launch OBS and check out the newly available "Application Audio Output Capture" sourceTroubleshootingApplication Audio Output Capture source not showing up after install: this means that either your OBS is out-of-date (check that it is at least 27.1.x) or you have installed the plugin to the wrong location. To re-install, first uninstall via "Add or remove programs" in the Windows settings, and then run the installer again. Make sure to select the top-level obs-studio/
2025-03-29Eihnast 4.00 star(s) Mar 29, 2022 Version: v2.2.2-beta Good tool, but I have some problems with it.Regularly when I try to capture audio from Teams conference my video drive do something like restarting and then I have to restart OBS. It happens only during the start of capturing, in first 10-30 minutes. After crashing and restarting OBS capturing works good 1-2-3 hours (I didn't use it more time at once). And after some time, in next day for example, all of it repeats.I'm not sure, but i think, some craches also I had when I tried to capture something with this plug-in when RTSS was turned on.Without this plugin I have no one of this problems. Bjonik 3.00 star(s) Feb 7, 2022 Version: v2.1.0-beta This Plugin is Godtier, BUT it comes with big problems. My OBS keeps crashing when closing while this is installed. One time my OBS did crash so badly that it nearly destroyed half of my scenes BUT I can't tell if it was this Plugin fault 100%. But it was after a closing craAnother BIG problem is: Games Like Valorant Voicechat will NOT be recorded EVEN if I have Valorants Ingame Sounds. I think this is because voip in Valorant do not work directly over the Game. So in all my recordings the voicechat is not recorded and I can't find any solution to fix that. XuruDragon 5.00 star(s) Feb 2, 2022 Version: v2.1.0-beta Just what I've searching for a long time.Just work like a charm.Love it !! Izofeu 5.00 star(s) Jan 31, 2022 Version: v2.1.0-beta Works perfectly on LTSC 2021 21H2. If you're running an older LTSC version, try 1.0.0-alpha.2. It works for some applications and is better than nothing. The only thing I dislike is if you mute OBS in Windows mixer, then this plugin doesn't capture any sound. Syvant 3.00 star(s) Jan 27, 2022 Version: v2.1.0-beta This plugin is incredible. When it works, it is arguably a feature that should be directly implemented into OBS. When it doesn't work, which is fairly often (at least in the latest version), it can cause headaches. Definitely keep an eye on this plugin as development continues. Tafarelo 1.00 star(s) Jan 12, 2022 Version: v2.1.0-beta A detail, I was with windows 11 and my obs was crashing every time it closed and giving a lot of error, I formatted the computer and installed windows 10 and the problem continued, I removed this plugin from my obs and now it's working normally, before I couldn't close it without task manager, so it doesn't work for me, but the idea is good, if I improve the plugin in the future, I'll remove this note. 2025-04-13I am using an M1 Mini with 26.1. OBS already has hardware encoder support, and it works great on the M1, even through Rosetta2. I'm somewhat doubting this, first there is no Hardware encoding option at all. Second of all, I'm not sure if software running over Rosetta2 can use everything from the new M1 chip... And OBS 26.1.2 is still using the Intel architecture. I haven't pushed my Mac mini to it's limits. But I would stil like to see an version of OBS optimized for the M1 chip. I believe that an M1 Mac can be an amazing and affordable streaming machine... #11 I can promise that as of OBS Studio version 26.1.2, neither a native M1 build exists, nor M1 hardware encoding support exists. What you're looking for is for this pull request (or another comparable pull request) to the project to be fixed, reviewed and merged: you can see from reading, it intends to add support to build OBS Studio as a native M1 silicon binary; and further, to add hardware rendering for it. After it were merged, one would either have to build OBS from source to work with it; or wait for it to be provided as a beta/production application. #12 OBS 27 rc1 is available for download and does have hardware encoding even though it’s still compiled for Intel. With hardware encoding enabled I’m seeing ~75% idle with the rest evenly split between System and User CPU. This is broadcasting at 1080p60 at 6500 bitrate with High profile selected on a Mac Mini M1. Zero dropped frames with a browser source, desktop capture, and webcam. My next tests will be with VLC video sources (Intel compiled) to see what kind of CPU usage and dropped frames I’m getting. #13 @teilo can you use OBS in Studio mode and *window capture* a source without having a delay? OBS window capture on MBP intel hardware AFAIK always has a delay which means if window capturing people, their lips/actions will be out of sync from the audio. I am using an M1 Mini with 26.1. OBS already has hardware encoder support, and it works great on the M1, even through Rosetta2. #14 @steve500 Here is a test: start a Zoom call with someone, use OBS to window capture the Zoom window. Have the person in Zoom clap their hands, and notice if their clapping is out of
2025-04-17But I DON'T NEED IT.I DEFINITELY need StreamFX and Downstream-Keyer. But I don't see those available through Flatpak. Is there some other method?I ALSO need the "browser" source because there are many things I want to do with that. So, I uninstalled the Flatpak version of OBS and rebooted...3. Alternative OBS InstallsIn Add/Remove Software, if you search for obs you will get a long list of items. There are several "alternative" versions of OBS Studio, including:obs-studio-browserobs-studiuo-rcobs-studio-tytan652These claim to support everything except service integration, which is fine with me. However...I TRIED to install using Pamac (Add/Remove): - obs-studio-browser 27.2.4-2 - Repository: AUR - Maintainer: tytan652 - Last Modified: Tues 05 Jul 2022 03:37:42 PM EDTDOES NOT INSTALLEach one has a dependency called "ffmpeg-obs" which is a modified version of the standard ffmpeg. I'm not going to replace the regular ffmpeg and risk messing up something else on my system. Many other programs on my system rely on ffmpeg.IMHO its the wrong approach to modify another, widely used app (ffmpeg) instead of finding some other solution. I certainly don't want to offend anyone who may have spent hours or days working on the above solution, but I just don't agree with it.the Flatpak install did NOT require a custom ffmpeg so I don't see why I should mess with my default system apps.4. Current Best Solution IMHO: obs-studio-gitAt this point I was pretty frustrated and I was about to give up. But, then I tried...Installed using Pamac (Add/Remove): - obs-studio-git 27.2.0.777-1 - Repository: AUR - Maintainer: benklett - Last Modified: Sun 27 Mar 2022 05:40:55 PM EDTPLUGINS INSTALLED:obs-downstream-keyerobs-streamfxNOTESIt is installed through the default installer with no command line tweaks or hacks. Both plugins installed and seem to work. I will need to do some streaming to test them"browser" source IS AVAILABLE and works!!There is NO Twitch account integration (which is fine). I'm using my stream key.CONCLUSIONI've seen so much discussion about why OBS is missing features on Manjaro (or Arch because Manjaro is based on it). I even watched a Youtube video where the OP explained in detail why this and that doesn't work
