You start out with your trusty Assault Rifle and a CovenantHandgun, so straight down the hall. If you look to the right, you can see thecontrol room, however, it is blocked off completely. As you pass by the controlroom, Captain Keyes sputters, "Chief, don't be a fool... leave me..." and thenCortana loses his signal. So, continue down the hall and go through the firstset of doors. As you descend down the slope ahead, you should see one of theFlood chasing a Grunt. Through the door on the left you will find some Plasmagrenades and an Active Invisibility. Then, follow the running Grunt aroundthrough the next few corners and you will soon see a small group of Gruntsfighting the Flood. Allow them to fight, then take out the remaining Flood. Oneof the Flood is using a Shotgun, so be sure to pick it up. Continue through thehall and around the left corner. As you make your way to the end of the hall,the flood will pour in from behind you. At the end of the hall, to the right,there is a door. If you try to pass through it, however, you will see a gianthole caused by an explosion. You can also see some green pools on the groundbelow, through the hole. Cortana suggests that you find another way, and so youshould head back into the previous hall. However, the Flood continue to pourout from the other side of the hall. There is an unlimited amount of Flood inthis area, and if you stay, Cortana will just say to jump down to the greenpools below.
