Registered: Jan 2012From IrelandFiachra: Cannot get past version 4.1.1.3624901. Tried using the Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade since hadn't installed it and supposedly contains patch 4.1.1.3630146. All it did was waste about 3 Gb of space with the soundtrack and some in game crap, it was still on version 274. Tried the individual patches and got to 901 but the 901 to 146 patch says "This patch does not support your version of the game please download a new installer". Going to have to figure out where the saved games are to backup and do a full bloody reinstall. Zephlordicus: I've got the same issue, I can't install either hotfix I just get the "please download a new installer" popup. I'm running on Linux so the Galaxy version isn't really an option either. I hope this gets fixed before some of the more major issues have a fix. It sucks that the reason I specifically bought the gog version is unsupported right now. I uninstalled the game and deleted every trace of it (apart from a backup of saved game files) and did a reinstall and patching using the individual patches, not the deluxe upgrade, and it is now at version 146. Luckily had downloaded the offline installer to try and put it on my Steam Deck later without needing to redownload, but still took an age to install. Still get a warning message about the EULA file saying it is not the correct one though even though it is the one it installed. My card is a Nvidia GT 1030. Downloaded NVIDIA PhysX Legacy System Software 9.12.1031 and extracted Physxloader.dll into Venetica\bin\release folder. The game would then show the splash screens and then a black screen and then back to the desktop. Then tried various steps such as fully installing the NVIDIA PhysX Legacy System Software 9.12.1031, running as administrator and GOG's Verify/Repair. No improvement. Removed the NVIDIA PhysX Legacy System Software and installed the current NVIDIA PhysX System Software. Generic always means heuristic, aka does partially got code or behavior that might be similar to something bad. And not virus definition. Next to all AV got heuristic. Most AV use a to harsh heuristic. But hey, at last they can show "I did protect you for your money" to the generic Joe. I suppose that being an old game there is some part of the code that due to heuristics triggers the alarm of some antiviruses and it is a false positive. It won't let me create links so I will remove the https cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.58.4/setup_galaxy_2.0.58.4.exe Had to exit GOG, install, then reboot the computer and so far no update errors.
