I need to install IE 9 on a Windows 7 VM for testing but I can't find Internet Explorer 9 download. The links to Microsoft to download IE 9 are pointing to IE 11. 0 . Interestingly, after several automatic Windows update cycles later, an update with IE 9 appeared along with IE 10 (unchecked IE 10).

Topic: update IE 9 to IE 11 @ AskWoody

System last month through Microsoft automatic updates... apparently IE10 has some bugs.Anyway, I saw that Internet Explorer was not coming up to show the normal Options dialog produced by GenoPro report generator. So I reverted back to IE9 and Report Generator works again! Maybe Microsoft will fix the bug in IE10, but for now, use IE9.Here is how to uninstall IE10 and revert back to IE9: IE 10To remove IE 10 from Windows 7 (and automatically reinstall IE 9):Click Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program. Select the option to View Installed Windows updates. Select the update labeled for Internet Explorer 10, right-click and select Uninstall. After a reboot, your IE 9 will be restored. And to block the update from installing IE10 again: run MS Updates in manual and deselect the IE10 Upgrade each time.Cheers. Hopefully the switch to HTA rather than the IE ActiveX control means it does. I intend to move the Config Params dialog in other reports to HTA in due course but of course you can turn off the dialog and avoid IE all together by setting the checkbox under the 'Generate Report 'Options' tab. Like I said in programs, it says IE 9 is installed, but the browser says IE 9. I actully downoaded the IE 11, then attempted to uninstall it, and in the view installed updates only IE 9 is there and the browsert says 11 I'm trying to install IE 9 but it says I have already installed the latest IE version, while I have no internet explorer installed. Instead, there is an update called Windows Internet Explorer 9 which fails to uninstall. So how do I install IE 9? System Update Readiness Tool for Windows never fixes the issue. Windows 7 x64 SP1. IE9 is classified as an update to Internet Explorer so it should be located in that list. Failing THAT, run System Restore to the moment just before Internet Explorer 9 was installed.

January 7, 2015, 7:59am 1 We have a problem with IE9. On a few machine (Win 7 32 bit) there is an error“Internet Explorer has Stopped Working…”I have tried to reset IE settings, clear cache and do sfc /scannow command as well. But still problem didn’t solve. Any idea how to fix this? Antonio1984 (Antonio1984) January 7, 2015, 8:15am 2 Try to start IE in safe mode. If it works, check all the add-ons that are running, de-select all and go on a one-by-one basis until you find the guilty one.If it still doesn’t work, upgrade IE, if you can do that. I have found the problem is causing by ieframe.dll file. Now I want to know if this is related to frameworks updates and how to fix this file. v-s (V_S) January 7, 2015, 8:53am 4 nicolaslang (Nicolas1847) January 7, 2015, 9:13am 5 Had the same problem a few days ago.It was only on IE9 and with the KB3008923 installed on some computers;Check if this KB is here, then uninstall it. baldanders (Thomas7884) January 7, 2015, 9:31am 6 same problem here, we upgraded everyone to IE 10 to resolve Thanks Nicolas I have done uninstall of this KB3008923 update and seem to work fine now. Thank you very much. I had the same issue at a client site; removed the KB in question, and the issue persists. Event viewer is listing the same ieframe.dll error, so i’ll check into the links listed above. wrx7m (wRx7M) January 13, 2015, 12:15am 9 Same problem here. Thanks for posting. I had two users complain to me about it last Friday (1-9-15). The strange thing is that no updates were installed the night before or even the week before. So I upgraded to IE11, which seems to have fixed it, at least for one user since Friday night and the second user a few hours ago. At the time I fixed it for the second user, two other users complained and a 3rd was not around. They are the last 3 on IE9 so I am just going to upgrade them.I was holding off on upgrading them because all 5 of them use a banking site that has some strange requirements with regards to crystal reports and check scanning directly into the site. Fortunately, it works when you use compatibility mode so the rest get the upgrade now. One less thing to worry about.I

February 4, 2004, 5:58pm 1 I just installed ver 4 and really like it, but there’s a major problem I’m having. Whenever I launch IE 6.0 a window pops up saying that IE needs to close down. It also gives me the option to send a report to Microsoft. I stopped the script monitor part of Avast and now IE works fine. Just pausing it doesn’t solve the problem. I’ve even reinstalled Avast with only Explorer and Systray running in the task list to avoid conflicts with other programs. The only way I’m able to even be on this forum is because I had to unistall Avast. I’m using Win98 ver 4.10.1998 with 369 M of RAM.Please help. system February 4, 2004, 6:25pm 2 Do you have any other AV currently on your system besides Avast?Douglas system February 4, 2004, 8:37pm 3 I did have PC-cillin, but I uninstalled it prior to installing Avast. Mac February 4, 2004, 8:39pm 4 do you ahve all of the updates to IE? system February 9, 2004, 6:50pm 5 Guys, thanks for the help. I updated my IE, repaired IE, ran a system check with Norton Utilities, and disk doctored all my HDs. Avast script monitor worked just fine after reinstalling it. However, my original problem was somewhat a moot point, because I plan on using the free home version, which doesn’t allow script monitoring anyways. system February 11, 2004, 1:47pm 6 HiI strongly recommend you to upgrade to Windows 2000/XP.Support for older windows

Exist!)Any ideas? #4 PS: The fix listed in the Post just above mine, won't work ... IE 8 isn't listed. Will it magically appear if I uninstall IE 9??Thanks. Feb 10, 2006 11,442 2 49,065 #5 If you upgraded from 8 to 9, you need to uninstall 9 to get 8 back. #6 I've done that once - but will try again! Thank you for responding to my question. #7 Whether you can install IE8 on your computer depends on whether your IE9 was preinstalled when you bought your computer as an update, or whether it is a native IE9.If it was installed as an update to IE8, use the following procedure:Click the Start button , type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.Then click one of the following: Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer). You computer should then revert back to IE8 automatically after you reboot. However, if IE9 was not installed as an update to IE8, you can only make it work temporarily in IE8 mode by pressing F12 in IE9 to bring up the developer tools. and selecting IE8 under Browser Mode. Try the first method first. Then you will know how your
