This section will guide you through the procedures to create a bootable drive of Hiren s boot CD for Windows 7 repair and enable it. I booted into Hiren’s Boot CD and and ran chkdsk, which fixed some errors but it still won’t boot. I can navigate the file system with the Boot CD with no issues. One of the options on Hiren’s Boot CD is Boot Windows Vista/7 (BOOTMGR) from Hard Drive. Selecting this option allows Windows 7 to boot properly on the laptop. I have to boot from cd on a HP Pavillon g6.It has Windows 7 factory installed but the guy forgot his password. So I made this Windows 7 recovery cd from another Windows 7 to try to do something. The CD boot fine on the laptop I used to create it, but not on the pavillon.I did go into the BIOS to adjust the boot order, but it didn't help. I can hear the CD turning at boot time but the computer won't boot from it.The BIOS is a InsydeH20 version F.21I googled and everywhere it tells to disable secure boot in the bios. The problem is that I don't have this option in the BIOS.Does anyone have an idea of what is happening here? Or better, yet what I should try from now?NB: For now I am using the external display connected via HDMI, because the screen is broken (a new one is on it's way), but I don't think it's relevant for my problem.[update]I did a factory reset so I now don't really need to boot from CD. But this question is still relevant for me : I want to understand what is the problem so I can face it differently next time (factory reset will not always be an option)

Is it possible to bypass Windows 7 logon screen if you forgot what your administrator password is? PCUnlocker allows you to either bypass Windows 7 login screen without overwriting the original password, or reset the administrator password and thereby regain access to the system. Here is a walkthrough on how to create a PCUnlocker Live CD and then use it to bypass Windows 7 logon screen without knowing the administrator password. This method also works with Windows 10, 8, Vista and XP. 1Create A PCUnlocker Live CD As you're already locked out of Windows 7 and couldn't log on, you need to create a PCUnlocker Live CD from another computer you have full access to. Download and save the PCUnlocker self-extracting Zip file to your desktop, then extract it locally and you'll see a disc image file labeled pcunlocker.iso. Burn the ISO image file to a blank CD using your favorite burning software (for example, ImgBurn or BurnCDCC). If your computer doesn't have a CD/DVD burner, you can make a PCUnlocker Live USB drive instead with the freeware ISO2Disc. 2Bypass or Reset Windows 7 Admin Password Now that the PCUnlocker Live CD is ready, put it in the CD drive of your locked Windows 7 computer and boot from it. To do this, make sure your CD-ROM is set as the first boot device on your computer's BIOS. When you successfully boot from the CD, it will launch the PCUnlocker program automatically after WinPE loads. By default, the program will detect your Windows installations, and list all user accounts stored in the SAM (Security Account Manager) database. Now you'll have two recovery options: one is to reset your user password by modifying the SAM file, and the other is to bypass the logon authentication through temporarily patching the Windows kernel
